in two months from today, we’ll have a 1 year old. i can’t describe the ridiculousness of this concept. just this time last year he was still in my tummy beating me up from the inside. now, he’s seconds away from never crawling again, he’s in the double digits of months (we’ll never see the single digits again), and he is becoming more and more of a little ball of personality every single day. i no longer have a baby; i have a toddling 10 month old who already knows how to push my buttons and give me a look that gets him out of any trouble. it’s mind-blowing.

riott’s latest:

-he walks everywhere that he can. as long as he can hold on to a couch, someone’s fingers, the fireplace, or his stool that he pushes across the floor – he’s on his feet. he even scales up and down the hallway walls.

-he loves to have conversation in baby language and he’ll laugh at anything that you or i think is funny.

-he whines with his lips puckered and sounds like a puppy (so flippin’ adorable)!

-when he’s really relaxed and laid back, he’ll talk to us with his mouth closed and no expression on his face.

-he officially has a fused tooth; two teeth in one.

-he “clicking” with he tongue – a new favorite noise to make.

-if he sees you smile at him, he’ll lay his head down on the couch or your knee, and smile back at you.

-he often laughs like a chipmunk – mouth closed, no expression.

-he’s walking across the rug on the living room floor as long as mom or dad stays about 2 feet in front of him.

-it doesn’t matter where he is in the house, if he hears the bath water running, he speed-crawls to the bathroom laughing.

-if we creep up on him reeeeal slow and say “mama’s/daddy’s gonna get him” he tries his darndest to crawl away really fast… or if he’s in his walker he’ll back up, just giggling, like he’s about to get the tickling of his life!

riott is such a happy baby. he keeps us smiling and laughing all the time. he tells us often that he’s ready for another trip to utah to see grandma and grandpa UTAH, aunties devin and angie, cousin clark, and uncles zach and katie!
